OUR HISTORY

Established in 1836, First Baptist Church of Sturgis, Michigan is in southwest lower Michigan near the Indiana border.

The church family joined the Michigan Baptist Convention in 1890. In 1845 with $300 in hand, the church built its first building for $1855. This was followed over the years with larger buildings as the congregation grew. The current building has served the church and the Sturgis community since 1964.
